Here they come! The weirdest superheroes! ABCs of Superheroes

We talked with Jens Holzeheuer, Oliver Tietgen and René Wiesner the men behind of one of the weirdest films to watch this 2015: ABCs OF SUPERHEROES.

Extravagant, sexy and bloody are the words that best describe the film debut of the directors Jens Holzeheuer and Oliver Tietgen, and the producer René Wiesner. Banned from ABC's of Death 2 and made in Germany, ABCs of Superheroes brings a crazy casting, bad taste visual effects and beings with powers that you never imagined.

The curiosity after watch the trailer was so big that we wanted to speak with the responsibles. We seek them and we found them.

So here is the interview with Jens, Oliver and René:

What is ABCs of Superheroes? ABCs of Superheroes is a feature length anthology film. For every letter of the alphabet there is a different superhero or supervillain. So you get about 26 very funny shortmovies in one feature. It is at the same time a parody of superhero-movies as well as a love letter to the genre. It is bloody, sexy and funny. Lots of the characters we created are based on characters from comics and movies we grew up with and still love today. Is the film as crazy as the trailer? Because the trailer is one of the craziest things we have seen this year. If you like the trailer you will love the movie! We want to make the movie as crazy as possible with many surprises and wtf-moments. And the stuff that was in the first trailer wasn´t even the weirdest that we have to offer.

You have Uwe Boll, Bai Ling (The Crow) ... Who else are in the film?

By now we have Uwe Boll, Bai Ling and Jörg Buttgereit as the most internationally known guest stars. From Germany we have Fettes Brot (famous german hip hop band), Flying Uwe (famous youtuber and scholar of Mark Dacascos), Dietrich Kuhlbrodt (actor in almost every Christoph Schlingensief movie) and many more.There will also be some special cameos which we can´t reveal at this moment, some of them are true legends of independent moviemaking.

We understand that big names are a factor in promoting a small project like this, but we would like to emphasize for a moment that we also have a wide range of great actors without big names in this film. People that will eventually have great careers - and then they will try everything to hide the fact that they have been in this movie How do you convinced them to join this madness? Some of them were actually really easy, we just asked and they said "yes". Hopefully it was because they just liked the ideas and the material we showed them. We also tried to write them really cool parts which we knew they couldn´t resist. Uwe plays the president of the USA and Jörg plays a Nazi-scientist - so they had some fun doing it too. The band Fettes Brot was on board because Oliver had worked with them previously and knows them well. By chance René noticed that Bai Ling was in Hamburg for a few days, so he just kindly asked her and one day later we are shooting with her in front of an improvised greenscreen in her hotelroom. How do you fund ABCs of Superheroes? Funding a project like this is a real problem. If you make a movie with lots of blood, violence, nudity and over-the-top humour you can´t expect much help in Germany where every filmproject need a TV-station as a backer. So we basically paid everything out of our own pockets. Unfortunately that meant also to make some compromises in terms of what we were able to put on the screen. We were not able to realize everything we had originally visionized, but at least we put all our blood and sweat into every frame of the picture. When the film will be finished?

We still have a lot of work in post-production but hopefully the film will be finished by the end of this summer.

And then, where we can watch the film? Maybe a theatrical release? Or in festivals around the world?

We would love to show ABCs of Superheroes at as many filmfestivals as possible. This really is a film that should be watched with a nice midnight-screening crowd of people. As far as distribution goes there is no signed deal yet, but if the people start to see the finished film, that will surely change - also when people see the film, we will surely be sent to an insane-asylum, but that is a completely different story.
